DJ Miki Love Exclusive Interview for EDMDroid Asia

1. Please tell us and our readers more about the nightlife in UAE right now in times of Covid.

Although the nightlife in UAE is gradually opening up, there are still some restrictions in place such as social distancing the tables, no dancing, limited seating

Despite the restrictions, people are still going out and enjoying themselves safely, and definitely look forward to the good old days of crazy gigs.

2. How long have you been DJing/Producing and what can we expect next from DJ Miki Love?

I've been a Dj since February 2007 and not planning to stop anytime soon. I will keep playing music and entertaining people of different age groups, this will turn into an eternal hobby when it stops being a main profession in the long run.

3. What has been your best and your worst gig experience so far. Be honest please, don't hold back.

One of the worst experiences was when the promoter of an international gig did not advertise the event at all and I had to perform on stage with much less crowd than expected.

One of the best experiences was when I played in a large stadium in India along with other famous artists and the public was extremely wild while they were enjoying the music and showing their love.

4. If you had to choose, which profession would you be going with? DJ or something else?

DJing is my first love, it would always be there for me no matter what I'm doing. Currently I am exploring a career in the Real Estate industry and I will focus efforts there too.

5. Top 3 tracks at the moment?

Parov Stelar - The Lonely Trumpet
NU - MAN O TU
Hraach - Babel

6. With which intl. act would you love to collaborate and why?

I would love to collaborate with Steve Aoki. I did the opening act for his Dj set a few years ago, and I loved the show which she put on the stage and the unlimited energy. That Would be amazing :)

7. Are you keen on cooking up an exclusive mix for us and our readers ? (60min)

Yessss, I would love to :)

8. Do you depend a lot on your look for succeeding in your DJ career?

At all. I've been really passionate about music and entertaining people since I was in highschool. I went to a Dj school and got mentorship from a very good friend and Dj too where I learned all the basics. The rest came afterwards with a lot of hard work and passion. I go to the gym almost every day and I make sure that I'm eating healthy as much as possible. Definitely not the look and only the hard work got me where I am today, after more than 14 years of performing live all over the world.

9. What are your work-related plans for 2021, your career and beyond?

Would love to go back on tours, after the travelling and entertainment is allowed. For now I'm working on releasing a new track, which hopefully will be ready soon.

10. Congratulations for making Asia's Top 25 DJs list. Please tell us how you feel and what were the reactions from peers and fans?

Honestly I was very happy and privileged to be nominated among TOP 25 DJs. There are so many talented DJs in there and it's joyful to join them at the top. My friends and fans have always been very supportive and inspiring during my journey as a DJ. I really appreciate them and share with them all the love for that.

11. May we ask what prompted you to move away from your native Romania and to pursue a career in Asia, i.e in the Middle East?

I felt that I needed to explore other sides of the world, especially knowing that being a female DJ is not something very common in this part of the world. And I'm very happy with my decision and grateful that I have the chance to play anywhere for a new audience.
