DJ Soda Exclusive Interview for EDMDroid Asia

1. Please tell us and our readers more about the nightlife in Korea right now and most specifically in your hometown in times of Covid and how it is different from pre-pandemic times.

Due to the severe global situation spreading around Korea, restaurants and other stores in Korea are closing earlier in the evening than before. Many people are also banned from gathering, so the time we spend safely at home has increased compared to previously. Although I am now trying to make more time and opportunities to meet my fans through online content or live streaming, I cannot wait to meet them as soon as this pandemic situation ends. Please make sure to stay safe and healthy until we can meet each other in person!

2. How long have you been DJing/Modeling and what can we expect next from you?

In fact, it has been a long time since I started DJing and modeling. I have been working as a DJ for around 8 years and modeling since 10 years ago. So, it is always really exciting for me to try to challenge myself to various new things. Please look forward to joining my performance as I try different cosplay in the future!

3. What has been your best and your worst gig experience so far? Be honest please.

The best gig experience I had was the time when everyone in the audience watching my performance sang along to my song and danced my signature dance. I had an amazing experience! The worst experience was when a drunken man tried to come up on the stage to take pictures or disturb the show. I even got attacked on my face with a stone thrown by someone, while I was performing on stage.

4. If you had to choose, which profession would you be going with? DJ, or something else?

Since I love my job being a DJ, and can’t even imagine being without music in my life, I would can’t even imagine being without music in my life, I would definitely choose to be a DJ if I had to choose again. Even if I were to not become a DJ, I would definitely choose to be a DJ if I had to choose again. Even if I were to not become a DJ, I would still be working in the music industry for sure.

5. Top 3 tracks at the moment?

‘Strangers’ by ’ by Roosevelt, ‘‘Goosebumps’’ by HVME, and ‘‘DAKITI’’ by Bad Bunny & Jhay Cortez are my three favorite songs I enjoy listening to.

Well, I am so grateful for my fans and listeners who support and love my music and performances. However, at the same time it would be a lie to say I had no pressure, since there are many people looking forward to my music and everything I present. So, I am constantly trying to show my fans a better side of me and to keep developing myself through music, as well as with other content I share with them all around the world.
